Lors de la combustion du bioéthanol dans le SPIN, deux à trois composants différents peuvent se former, tous libérés dans le cadre d’un concept de produit sûr et réfléchi : 1\) Dioxyde de carbone (CO₂) Le principal produit naturel d’une combustion propre de l’alcool. La quantité libérée correspond à celle d’une à quelques bougies chauffe-plat, selon le modèle de SPIN. Avec une bonne aération, cela est totalement inoffensif. 2\) Vapeur d’eau (H₂O) L’éthanol est composé de carbone, d’hydrogène et d’oxygène – la combustion produit donc un peu de vapeur d’eau. Cela peut légèrement augmenter le taux d’humidité dans la pièce. En très faibles traces possibles : 3\) Monoxyde de carbone (CO) Ne se forme qu’en quantité infime et presque uniquement en cas de manque d’air, de brûleurs encrassés ou d’utilisation inappropriée.
