How do I clean / care for my PLANCHA?
Caring for your PLANCHA:
- After grilling, while the PLANCHA is still warm, use a scraper to lift off any food and grease. Push the residue toward the center or the embers—our spatula is available here.
- For tougher grease, add a splash of cold water or drop in an ice cube to help lift stubborn bits.
- Once the PLANCHA is cool, apply a thin layer of heat-resistant cooking oil*.
- With use, your PLANCHA will develop a natural patina, just like a well-loved cast-iron pan.
- You can also clean with warm water and gentle dish soap if needed.
- Avoid steel wool or harsh pads—soft, lint-free cloths work best.
- For a deep clean: Apply a foam-based grill or oven cleaner, cover with cling film overnight to keep it moist, then rinse thoroughly.
- Dry completely and re-oil before storing.
- Wipe away any excess oil with a cotton cloth—now your PLANCHA is perfectly prepped for the next BBQ!
Never use olive oil, as it's not suitable for this process.
